Evidence of Insurance

Once a Contractor is appointed and prior to the commencement of the work request the Contractor to produce evidence from their  Insurer/Insurance Broker that they have insurance in place in respect of the work being undertaken and that such insurance will remain in place for the duration of the Contract. The minimum cover a Contractor should have is Public Liability insurance (with a Limit of Indemnity of €6.5m) and where they engage Employees they should also have Employers Liability cover (Limit of Indemnity €13m). Your Allianz representative or your Insurance Broker/Intermediary can assist you in checking the Contractors insurance.
