Submitting Accounts to the FSSU
Community and Comprehensive schools
The first year of submission for the Community and Comprehensive schools will be for the school year 2019/2020.
Voluntary Secondary Schools
To ensure compliance with Section 18 of the Education Act, 1998 the following must be completed by February 28th of the year following the end of the previous school year:
- A pdf copy of the approved annual accounts is to be uploaded to our online submission system, it is NOT necessary for accounts to be sent to the FSSU
- The schools trial balance is to be inputted to our online submission system
Failure to comply with this deadline will result in the school being selected for audit
Board of Management Confirmation Letter
The annual accounts will be accompanied by a separate confirmation letter completed by the board of management which will allow the external accountant/auditor to file data to the online portal which is now required from boards of management by the Charities Regulator and the Central Statistics Office.
Accounts submission Timescale
To assist with meeting the 28th February deadline, we have created a six month timescale following the end of the school year to complete the annual accounts for submission to the FSSU.
