Overview
The grant paid to schools in 2025/2026 is provided for the purchase of physical resources supporting the Wellbeing Curriculum in the redeveloped primary curriculum.
Rates
The Primary Curriculum Grant has been paid to schools and is calculated as follows:
Fixed payment per school:
- €400 – 1 to 30 pupils
- €500 – 31-50 pupils
- €750 – 51 – 150 pupils
- €1000 – over 151 pupils
Per-pupil payment: €13.10
DEIS/SEN rate per pupil: €15.10
The grant amount is based on 2025-2026 student enrolment.
Main features of the Grant
This grant is strictly for resources and materials that support the implementation of the Wellbeing Specification curricula. ICT equipment is not covered as separate ICT grants address these needs. Further details on what funding can be used can be found here
Financial Oversight
The grant income and expenditure should be recorded appropriately in the school’s accounts using the following codes.
